Whats up everyone, yesterday i took my 2014 Lexus GS 350 in and traded it for a 2013 certified ES 300 H. I leased the GS as my daily commuter because i drive a lot, about 2000 miles a month. However, i was not happy with the 17 mpg i was averaging with 50/50 city highway driving. The stop and go traffic here in L.A. kills your mpg. And premium is up to 3.80 /gal. So i decided to get a Hybrid and from my research the ES retains its value the best and is the most luxurious vehicle for the money. I had the GS for 6 months and drove 8,3000 miles, it was a tremendous vehicle but not really what i was looking for. It was more of a sports car and i have a few of those already. I drove the ES Hybrid about 70 miles so far and im avergaing 42.1 mpg. Never had a hybrid before so this is pretty cool, with the EV mode and all. Im still learning about the vehicle.

2013 Lexus ES 300 H, 13k miles, certified pre owned with 100,000 mile warranty. Nebula gray exterior w/ black interior. Fully loaded with everything. Navigation, blind spot monitor, park assist, heated and cooled seated, sun shade, bamboo steering wheel just to name a few. Im really happy with my decision.

I had the dealer sign a paper to have the wheels swapped for alloy wheels because the chrome ones are quite hideous. So next week i will take it in to be changed.

Welcome! I made a similar mistake several years ago with a Trail Blazer SS. Premium was over $4.30/gal and I was driving about 500 mi's/wk. The TBSS averaged, at best, 14mpg's! I cut my losses. We learn best from our mistakes, not from what others preach to us.

Thanks , ofcourse i took a lil hit on the neg. equity, but its better to get out of your lease early rather than keep paying and hoping your equity gets better.

Enjoy your new ride. We have the Nebula Gray Pearl on our RX and it is a great color. We were lucky enough to get the parchment interior which I must say is easier to take care of. The black in our ES looks nice but shows everything. We have had our ES 300H for two weeks now and love it thus far.

really , the 300 Hybrid takes 87 gas ?

Page 249 of the manual states "Unleaded gasoline (Octane rating 87 [Research Octane Number 91] or higher)". The manual actual covers both models and it doesn't make a distinction between the two with respect to recommended fuel - so yes, I believe that means both the 300H and 350 take 87 Octane.

Good move for your purposes. Yes, it's a fantastic car and with much more than adequate pep, yet unbelievable mileage for such a roomy luxurious car. I get about 41 mpg REGULAR gas in mixed driving, always with the"sport" setting. It's going to be hard to replace when the time comes

While it is certainly not as sporty or rwd like the GS350, it more than makes up for it with the above.

When I compare the drivability of the ES300h, I generally think about the road noise, the turning/handling, and ride comfort. I was not looking for a race car. Acceleration wise, the car is slower than non-hybrids, but it is reasonable for a daily commuter.

For what it is worth, I have both the hybrid ES300h and the Gas ES350, I love both of them. The power difference is not that noticeable and if I am in the pole position at a light, I put the hybrid in Sport mode and away I go. I do like the new infotainment/navigation better than the last generation. As far as the Mark Levinson package goes, you have to remember that every input, AM, FM, Satellite, etc., has it's own tone settings. If you set one, the others do not change. The system has great bass, IMHO. Just my 2 cents.
