Hello!
I purchased a suitable aftermakert head unit/navigation system for my 2013 ES300h (it came with the horrendous stock LED backlit display for radio/AC information). Even though I know to make the installation, I am at a loss on now go remove the stock head unit and the cd player/AC control panel. I tried plyiing it out with regular trim tools, but found no way of getting these things loose. Anybody has any idea where are the clips sticking these parts together?

Thanks for the links. However, I'm looking for a DIY video or explanation on how to remove those covers, particularly the plastic piece that covers the OEM display unit. I've searched for hours, but it seems no one dares do that to a 2013 car.

Aha, someone else afflicted with that nasty grayscale screen I assume you also have an empty space where the rotary dial or haptic mouse would sit.

I'm not sure about DIYing it, I had my dealer rip out the old screen and install an aftermarket touchscreen system with a DVD player in the glove box. They took apart the center console and the screen area but now I have a few rattles from the screen when it gets really cold.

I'm always afraid when they take apart your dash, and you end up with rattles. At least yours happens only when it's really cold.

Where I am really stuck is with the two buttons/screws in the head unit's cover in the center of the dashboard. I have no clue how to remove them, nor whether that whole piece is somehow glued to the dashboard.
Also, I'm having problems removing the cover where the buttons controlling the radio/ac are located. I know you can ply that out with trim tools, since it is held in place with clips, but have no idea where they might be located.

What model and where did you get your aftermarket system. I have a detail instruction on how to remove the old radio if you still need it

You need to start with the trim around the gauge cluster and work to the right until all the trim has been removed. It's not a job for someone with no patience. I removed all of mine for the Nav bypass unit that I installed and it went fine but does take time as you need to remove everything carefully. Send me a PM if you need detailed info...
