Power Windows don't operate in my 2013 ES300h when i have power on and engine is not running. I can have CD player going, charge my phone etc. I have to turn on the engine as well, then only they work
I would like to know this is how it is for others or its an issue i have to fix

Yes, you have to have foot on the brake to start the car, ready light showing on a hybrid, for power windows to operate. Do not work in Accessory mode.

I never noticed that but it is probably a safety issue and after thinking about it not a bad idea - no chance of unattended children activating the windows..

Not the case on my '13 ES350, so maybe it's a hybrid thing?

That's always been the case with my 3 Lexus. Windows won't operate on accessory mode, but must be in the on mode (engine doesn't need to be running). That said, the windows will continue to operate for about 30 seconds when turned off unless any door is opened.

I need to correct my first post, thanks to Arty101--you just have to press the pushbutton start twice--to get to "On" mode, the Ready light does not need to be on, nor the brake pressed. For the OP, they do not work in "Accessory mode" is the simple answer.
