Default 2013 ES350: Changing Lane Change Flasher Count

Does anyone know the dealer shortcut for [dealer only] vehicle customizations, such as changing the lane change flasher count from 3 to 5 or changing the turn signal annunciator from med to soft? My 2000 LS400 turn signal was barely perceptible, which was perfect.

The lane change signal count is listed as a customization option in the Vehicle Customization menu (via NAV/Audio display), but it is not there as the manual appears to be in error on this parameter. These two features are noted as dealer only on the LS350 Customization worksheet I have found elsewhere on this forum, but I was wondering if anyone had the process available for changing these as traveling to the Lexus dealer is a ways for me. Bought the '13 ES CPO at dealer and saw all the customizations after I got home with it.

I have seen step-by-step processes elsewhere in the forum involving manipulation of the windshield wiper and turn signal stalks as well as a youtube video, but none seem to apply to the 2013 ES model.

Thank you.

I bought the Carista module from Amazon which facilitates most of the custom - dealer only - changes. It works with Bluetooth thru a smartphone. Cost was about $10.00. Worked perfectly on my 2013 ES350 and NO trips to - or charges by the dealer.

Thank you both. I did see a reference in one of the other forum messages to the Carista app and the OBD module available from Amazon. I did not see however that you had to get the "Pro" version of the app to effect changes to the customization parameters... good to know. I'll give that a try.

Used it to make changes to the wife's 2014 RX350 also. Now she can sit in a drive-up line without constant beeping.

Ok, I have to ask. What was causing the constant beeping that needed the tool to turn off?

It was to quiet the parking assist sensors after 3 seconds.

I could turn it off at the steering wheel, but then I'd have to remember to turn it back on.

Now there is no need to manually intervene.

Thumbs up

Received the OBDII Bluetooth module today. Downloaded the Carista app (Android). Plugged the module in, paired the Bluetooth and opened the app. As noted earlier by others, you can view faults and customizable settings with the free version of the app, but to save your setting changes into the vehicle you have to buy the Pro version of the app, $20. Well worth it. All done in less than 10 minutes.

One thing that I couldn't get to work was the "email settings" function. All I received was an email with no text and no attachment. I'll call Carista about that tomorrow. It would be nice to have a baseline set for future reference if needed.

Thanks for the help.
