Streak on dash. Anyone know how to clean?
I have these streaks on my dash that I can't seem to get rid of on the passenger side. I can't seem to clean them off, does anyone know how to take them off? It seems like it's so easy to create them when you rub anything on the dash by mistake, they are also on the door. It seems like that material is so delicate and other people have told me the same. Any help would be approciated.

After cleaning with a regular cleaner and drying thoroughly, I use "303 Aerospace Protectant". It is made by Gold Eagle. See, www.303products.com . I don't think it is supposed to be a "cleaner", but it sure does seem to make those white streaks go away and stay gone.

I'm almost certain the "streaks" you refer to are scratches. The materials used on the dash, door, and console trim are very prone to scratches (looks like faint, whitened marks). I've noticed that if my wife just brushes her purse across the trim piece in front of the passenger seat, it scratches.

I'm one, like a lot of others on this forum, that is scrupulous about maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of all of my cars. I find that the surface of the dash is incredibly difficult to keep looking like new. I have no scratches, scuffs, or marks of any kind on there but it never looks perfectly clean. The surface is akin to suede and not at all smooth. I use water - clear water to wipe down the top of the dash and, for me, that is the best result. For other interior cleaning I use Ultimate Interior Shampoo suggested to me by another member. It cleans everything including blue jean dye transfer. Good Luck with the dash as I know it's a real PITA.

I've notice the dash is very delicate too. Using one of those 'hoop' style sunshades scratched my dash due to the metal band inside the fabric. I now use one of the accordion style sold by the dealer and sized specifically for the 2013 ES. It has a soft felt edge that doesn't scratch the dash.
I use a McGuire's protection for vinyl and dash. It covered up the scratches and adds uv protection.

Correction on the interior shampoo. It's ULTIMA interior shampoo gel. Not ultimate...

Meguires Ultimate Interior Protectorent. Cost a bit more, but works well and provides UV protection. You'll need to wipe down twice since it leaves a slight sheen.
