Default Lexus Res Plus

Does anyone know if you can install the Res + system on a 2013 ES 350. I was under the impression that it is possible. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Be aware that there are a lot of previous posts on this remote start system - most are negative and the fact that there is a yearly charge for the service.

Also the non-smartphone remote start system that apparently lacks good distance for starting.

Check this post. I have a '13 and installed it on mine. You can review my comments at the end of this post.

Thanks for the thread link. Its good to see insight on the product. I took my '13 Lexus in to a dealership here in Houston and they installed RES on my car even though i specifically asked for RES+. They were adamant that i couldnt install it on a '13. I argued with them that it could to no avail. Im now having them take off the RES and refund me my money. The RES is almost useless. I have to be within 30 feet of my car and then input a seemingly complex series of keystrokes on my keyfob just to get it to start. By the time it does im already at my door and opening it turns the car off. Ill do without the remote start until i can find someone that can install the RES +

I purchased mine from an Internet dealer page. It believe it was Sewell Lexus. Once i received it I installed it myself and then had to take it to the dealer to have it registered to the vehicle. They did it for free for me. After that its been working fine ever since. At first it didn't seem to work too well but now it works 95% of the time. I think that was due to Lexus not having the account set up properly. I have no complaints.

You must have some experience with wiring etc because i looked at the manual and it looked to be a little complicated to do on your own. How long did it take you?

It took about 2 hours. They sent me the instructions but I also had access to the TIS site and downloaded them. For the RES module it only takes 10 minutes once you get all the panels off. Most of the time is used being really careful with removing the panels. you will need some trim tools but they can be found at Harbor Freight for less than 10 dollars.

Went to my dealer parts dept. today and they said it was not for a 2013. I then asked if it could still be installed on my 2013. They would not do it...

Sounds like you need to try another dealer...

Just for reference the part number that I ordered was PT398-33140. This may have been superceded with some updated part number that states it's not compatible. It was ordered from Autonation in July of 2014.
