Ok, I agree with your first complaint. The second, however, has me baffled. Touching the door handles to unlock/lock is an added feature. You can still use the FOB to do those tasks, if you wish.

i think mb what is meant is that you can't for example use your fob to unlock your car from the house, then walk out and open the door without having to take the fob with you.

I haven't actually tried that exact scenario with my ES, but most cars have a 30 sec timeout. Meaning, they will relock if you don't open the door within that period. I will try this tonight.

If you unlock the doors with the fob (or by touching the door handle) and if you don't subsequently open the door, it does re-lock after, I think, 30 seconds, but I still don't understand what the issue is that andywoods is talking about. Whatever it is, it has to be perfect example of a first world problem.

I verified I don't have that issue. I can unlock mine from the house, leave the fob and walk out and open the door. I'm guessing you're just waiting too long.
