Default Startup Image

For those of you that have changed the screen startup image I have a question: The query is "do you wish to overwrite existing images?" when you get to the point of inserting the new image by USB. My question is that if you answer yes, do you delete - overwrite - the default "LEXUS" screen and is it permanently deleted? There are slots for three (3) additional images.

Its been a while since I changed mine, but I believe the LEXUS image is permanent and the other 3 images will be overwritten.

Bob- were you successful in changing out your start up image? Was it difficult?

I'll try it today and let you know. I made the folder on the flash drive last night.

I got it to work perfectly the first time Art. Pretty cool. I found a you tube video on the procedure and it's for an IS but same for our ES. Here's the link for anyone interested.

Bob- Thanks for the video link. Very nice and straight forward. I understand we have 3 files we can save, Do you create 3 separate files and upload each separately?

You have slots for 3 additional photos. You must create a folder and drag and drop the photos into it to upload them into the car. The most important thing is to use the correct name "StartupImage" for the folder.

Default Don't have the option.

My 2011 IS250 FSport doesn't have the download option in the navigation menu. I was told that only the dealer can change the startup screen. Not cool because If I wanna change it again I have to go and visit the dealership again. Does anyone has any other suggestion, thanks.

I just tried uploading images to my 2014 ES300h. The jpgs would not upload. Is there some special file properties required?

I know the car saw the USB drive as the Transfer button was highlighted. When I pulled the USB drive out the Transfer button on the screen grayed out.

Did you try the youtube video? It's for an IS and I used it for myES350. Worked perfectly first time.
Very important to create a folder and name it "StartupImage".

Yes, I did double check and I have the folder named properly. It worked only when you place one file in the folder.

I've been trying to add a startup image to my RX for weeks. I followed the instructions in the manul but the car keeps telling me no files could be found.
I was able to do this on my ES on the first try.
Very frustrated.
