Yeah, I don't think any city or metro area has a lock on the worst roads. You can find bad ones all over.

While I agree that no city or metro area has a lock on the worst roads, don't think that things get any better when you get out into the country. The roads that I drive on every day include tar and gravel roads that are crumbling, not just during the winter but the year around, roads whose pavement washes away with a heavy rain, and gravel roads with ruts deep enough that you could lose a small child in them.
