Typical dealer scare tactic. Tire dealers are probably safer than a Lexus dealer is, as far as breaking a TPMS sensor goes.

Just mention when you go in to buy new tires that you have TPMS and they need to be aware that it works fine, if they break it they will have to fix it. Never had a problem with any tire place standing behind their work. Most cars have this feature it's not rare. Lexus just wants to make extra $$$ selling you over priced tires.

I'm not sure tpms sensors are that expensive - were they trying to sell a tire plan or something when "they" told you that? I get my tires at discount tire also - they charge $7 each to rebuild the sensors when the tires are installed.
