My wife has a 2014 ES350 and she gets 27 on her trip to work which is 12 miles with around half of that on the highway. On strictly highway driving usually I am driving the car get 32.5 on the average. I have a 2014 IS350 and I get 26, 27 on highway driving only, 22 on no highways.

It depends on speed, the other traffic on the road, and on how much lead is in your foot.

My 300h gets right about 38 mpg. But that commute is on heavy-traffic interstate, mostly rush-hour, in a mix of 75 mph insanity and stop-and-go insanity, with just a little 40mph normal driving in between. I have long since given up any attempt to maximize mileage, and settle instead for mere self-preservation.

Your mileage results are the lowest I've seen. We all have the same car. I've never used Economy mode more than for just an experiment, though. My calculated MPG's for almost 16k miles is just under 26. My commute was mainly side roads with speed limits up to 50, with several stops along the way. On the highway, I've averaged over 30mpg's. Are your tires inflated properly? Something's seems definitely wrong, if what you say is true.

My '13 ES300h is at just over 12k miles (purchased in August 2012). 99% in-town driving (out-of-town trips are only to airport). ALWAYS set on ECO. Car mileage calculator says 41.3; I don't even bother to manually test/compare it anymore...it's always been within 1 MPG. So true MPG is at least 40 overall.

I'm not a leadfoot by any means, but I have been known to gun it when necessary to pass left-lane bandits [usually Q-tips who have to make a left turn 15 miles ahead, women texting (yikes!), or outright a-hole 'necks in diesel Rams (I can almost smell the Axe Body Spray)].

Lots of hills around here, but I've found the cruise control helps a LOT...especially since it doesn't allow the car to speed up going DOWN hills, which shields me from speeding tkts. And of course, the battery regens during the coasting.

Friends drool at the mileage in such a luxury car using regular gas. Except for my first SC300 ('92), this is the best and most beautiful Lex I've ever owned.

I have close to 5000 miles on my 2014 ES350 UL and during several long trips I could get close to 30 mpg. ECO mode does not change anything. I averaged between 75 and 80 and found much better mileage at lower speeds. I did a comparison with the car mileage computer and manual computation and found little difference. Around town it drops significantly.

I'm getting around 40mpg on the highway, cruising at 118km (73mph) tail wind,

On my way back I was at around 36mpg (front facing wind)

Not bad for such a big car.

I don't know what planet you guys are driving on getting 30 mpg. + but I can NEVER get my car to get better than 22. Sometimes I average 18! I am NOT a fast driver and I drive a combination of streets and L.A. freeways. Maybe I should take it into the dealer and complain?

I forgot to specify that I have the 300h, hybrid is the way to go. I average currently at 41mpg (highway and city driving) since the last refill. I love that hybrid car, never have to stop to fill up. (well, I do fill up from time to time, but it's 2 time less often then with a regular car). It's my first hybrid and I have no regret.

I have heavy feet, and get 36-38. commute 22 miles on I95, 1way, avg over 70....

something is wrong. IMHO, its probably your feet.

is the OP mileage computer or actual?

My worst ever was 34mpg

I have the mpg bars on the center dash. and the fuel meeter gauge on the left.

-push the peddle down to get to the cruising speed, then feather the throttle. Coasting or needing only 10 hp to maintain speed is key. I try to keep the fuel meter gauge below 2 ticks over half throttle. except off the line. or to pass.

Something doesn't sound right with that kind of mileage. Have you done a manual calculation to see if the computer is right, if not you should do it. Fill up where you normally buy gas, run the car and if possible fill up at the same pump so there is no difference levelness of where the car sits while refueling and then check the mileage and see what happens. If still bad see the dealer, this car can get 22 mpg standing on its head

I've had me ES 350 for a week now. I like to use cruise control and have the PCS system. Whether I drive residential roads at 40 or highway at 60+, watching the fuel usage on the display indicates that maintaining a constant speed matters most. If I use cruise control and maintain the set speed, I can get 30-32 MPH. I think that is great for the gas model. I I'm driving through stop lights starting and stopping, I get about 23 or so.

I have a 2014 ES300h that I've mostly been driving to and from my office. I have a 24 mile commute one way. I average 48 to 50 miles per day. Total miles on the car so far is around 3900 and I've averaged 37.5.

I also use aCar app on my Android phone to compare the car's computer and my OVERALL average since purchasing the car is at 36.8. Pretty close comparison.

I do drive 70 to 75 when I can and keep the car mainly in ECO mode. Maybe I have a lead foot, but I do not understand how some of the folks on this forum are getting 40+.
