I drive Eco mode 90% of the time. My foot is a bit heavy, otherwise.

Eco. I'be played with sport a time or two just to try it out and to see the tach change, but see no practical use of it-especially to leave it in sport mode. I've been driving Toyota hybrids for 8 years though so maybe I am accustomed to how they work and ride.

Normal mode for 98%+.

Don't like the response in ECO and don't usually need to use Sport very much.

I learned to drive a hybrid in a Camry, and developed driving habits to take advantage of the technology. This car has essentially the same drive train, and those driving habits transfer... So I don't notice much difference between "Eco" and "Normal" mode.

But I still leave this car in "Eco" mode most of the time.

In heavy traffic on straight roads (in south Florida), the "Sport" mode is basically a joke. It might be fun if there were some bends in the roads and if those other cars weren't in the way.

I drive in Sport mode when using the A/C, Eco mode otherwise.

99.99% eco mode, unless merging into freeway.

98% of the time, I am in 'Normal'. The computer does just fine, here in the 'A-Z'. With such flat terrain, this works well. learned this from driving a Prius, for four years. I average 45 - 47 MPG 95% of the time. REALLY love the ES300h.

90% Normal. I use Sport to get the 650v (rather than the 500v of Norm/ECO) when I want to take off with
speedier traffic but then twist it back for most driving. Only use ECO with cruise and that is quite rarely.

I'd like to ask: what do the mostly ECO users average with their mpg?

I use Sport mode when using the A/C because I find I get better fuel economy this way. I have found that Sport mode tends to keep the traction battery charged more (in general) so the engine seems to come on less when stopped.

Although I thought otherwise, ECO mode does indeed impact the cooling efficiency of the A/C system - it definitely works better in the Normal and Sport modes.

Overall, I get the same fuel efficiency regardless of the mode selected.

I'm not a guy am I allowed to post?

I drive in ECO all the time. I'm averaging about 35 mpg. When I drove in Normal I was averaging about 30 mpg. I can't figure out how to get this any higher - but my drive is all stop and go on hills and I think that's what's killing me.

Yeah it's not just stop and goes it's stop and go up and down hills. On straight shots with no traffic I can hit 42 mpg on the freeway but San Diego is all hills. Especially everywhere I need to go. I go up a hill to get to my house. My parents live 2 blocks away, I go down the hill, up a crazy steep hill, halfway down the crazy steep hill then up another hill to get to their house. My morning drive is 17 miles but I'm going up and down all these hills plus more. I could probably make myself feel better by tracking actual mileage in my van to see what I was getting before I got Lexie....
