Default 2013 ES bluetooth question

I have a customer who is experiencing some difficulty with his bluetooth.

The car is a 2013 ES350 and the phone is a Droid phone with Verizon service.

Customer is claiming that the phone keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from bluetooth on its own, sometimes several times per commute and sometimes to the point where he has to reconnect himself.

any thoughts on why the connection would be interrupted like this?

thanks in advance,
matt

I have an iphone and have not had any problems with connections, so it's likely not the car. Lexus seems to favor the iphone over android since they have siri talk free and no android equivalent.

Delete and re-pair, and watch for a pop-up on the phone that says something like "connect automatically each time"....it comes up after the pairing, and also at car restart, but unless you are watching the phone you will not see it. I've had several Android phones (recently MotoX and Galaxy Nexus) with no problems, and several on other Lexus/Toyota variants. Some, however, were sensitive to phone/antenna location--back pocket was sometimes a problem.

No problem here with Galaxy NOTE 3 or NOTE 2. Probably a phone setting that he needs to enable (automatic connect setting) so that the phone doesn't require you to confirm the connection each time.

Maybe an option on the phone is enabled for power conservation "Turn off BlueTooth after XX minutes idle" ? Which is pretty useless now since the latest version (which the ES supports) of BT is very efficient

I'm having this problem in my 2014ES. Will try and look for the setting Jim256 is talking about.

I posted a thread about this - after the stupid kitkat update my Bluetooth did this. I had to have the phone and car forget the Bluetooth connection and then reconnect. It stopped connecting and disconnecting but I still can't get my car to read me my text messages. First world problems

4.4.2 on the Moto X works fine, went through the upgrade from .1.
