Default Sold my ES, can believe what I got!

I paid 41K for my lexus in Aug 2012, and sold it to CARMAX(in Escondido, Ca) for 35K in Nov 2013. I wont get into the need for me to sell it, but I was amazed, and very surprised at the value it held. I love Toyota product, I cant think of any maker that holds value quite as well.

Truth of the matter is: either you underpaid, someone overpaid, or both.
15% depreciation in 15 months is excellent.

Good point. I thought depreciation was based on MSRP?

Sticker on my car was just under 44K, I paid just over 41K. So yes, I think I got a good deal on the buy, and also on the trade in. But I was still amazed at what they offered me. I was expecting 30Kish from a dealer. And I didnt buy another car from them.

I've notice most cars take about a 20%+ hit on the first year. Lexus has a higher resale value than most others, so it doesn't surprise me on your trade in. It also doesn't hurt that you bought under msrp, that reduces the depreciated percentage.

Nice mike.
