Default RES+ Now Available for ES350

Hey all!

Hoping this hasn't already been posted.....if so, my apologies!

I see RES+ is now (finally!) available for the ES, including 2013. Looks like Sewell has it available for $599, while direct is $799 (includes one-year subscription).

Anyone looking to install, or have prior experience with RES+ ?

It's not available for 2013, unless something changed in the last few weeks.

i talked to a technology specialist last weekend when i got my 15000 service and they also said 2014 only. it is part of an "enhanced" remote start, which makes sense since it has to be able to receive signals from a cell phone........

i hope they're wrong.......

Does anyone have both RES+ and windshield tinting? I plan to put ceramic tint on my windshield when my car arrives and am wondering whether the proper sequence is (a) RES+, then install tinting over the RES+ materials, (b) tinting, then install RES+ on top of the tint, or (c) they don't play well together.

Geez, the installation is extensive.

Wonder what they charge for the install.

My wife's Lacrosse has this feature and works quite well.

Better if it was factory installed and not an add-on.

Take a look at the installation manual that you can download on Sewell's site.

Yes, installation looks very extensive! I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig. I'll wait until they've done a few, first. I really want it, though!

do you think the "2014-" on the top of every page of that installation manual means it is for 2014 and forward?

sure does look like a difficult installation process! I'd definitely want someone with some experience doing it.

Yes, as far as dealer options are concerned. Since there is no change from the 2013 model, the install will be the same.

which dealership do you use in IL?

i purchased from Lexus of Naperville.

i went to another dealer in Northwest Indiana (which is much closer to me) who said that they have seen very few (if any) choose the option (when it was on the RX) due to the cost.

in addition to being expensive, there is also the subscription fee.

i'm also skeptical on the "ease" of installation. i also have window tint on my side and back windshield so i don't know how it will work.

I bought from Woodfield, but have only been back for the 5k service. I have not brought this up with them yet.

I doubt your tint will cause any issues, since the antenna is affixed to the windshield.

let me know what woodfield says. it's a bit of a drive (I - 294 x 1 hr or so) but if they would do it to a 2013, might be worth it

according to the installation instructions on the sewell parts website, it seem like they attach an antennae to the front windshield as well as the front passenger window

I'm really interested in getting it too --- but will probably wait for others to be done first...not interested in being a guinea pig myself!

If anyone does have it done, will be very interested in getting their feedback!

Smile RES+ Now available for 2013 ES350

My research has shown that the RES+ they are installing is Lexus/Totota Part Number PT398-33140.

This page from a parts provider that lists it as being for ES models 2010-2014. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=5819

This is the Sewell Lexus information where you can clearly see that it states its for 2013 ES350 too. http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2013/6469.html

I had to tell the parts manager at Lexus of Towson what the part number was after being told that it didn't exist. I called Lexus Customer Service to see if there was a list of dealerships that have experience with this extensive install, to no avail.

I'm really interested in this tech and would love to have it! If anyone hears anything new or is able to get it successfully installed anywhere in the vicinity of Maryland, please let me know!
