I'm really interested in this tech and would love to have it! If anyone hears anything new or is able to get it successfully installed anywhere in the vicinity of Maryland, please let me know!
I answered a survey on RES for the ES a few weeks after getting the car last year and I still wonder what people would use this feature for, besides warming up a car parked on the driveway from the kitchen... ?

That would be the lowest use case I could think of. How about if you take the train everyday? It's perfect for starting your car from the stop before yours.

This page from a parts provider that lists it as being for ES models 2010-2014. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=5819

This is the Sewell Lexus information where you can clearly see that it states its for 2013 ES350 too. http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2013/6469.html

I had to tell the parts manager at Lexus of Towson what the part number was after being told that it didn't exist. I called Lexus Customer Service to see if there was a list of dealerships that have experience with this extensive install, to no avail.

The link for Sewell goes to "page no longer available". The link to Toyota Auto Nation states that it's available for the 2013. If one researches for the RES+ on Sewell, it shows that it IS NOT available for the 2013 ES350, only for the 2014. If anyone has good, correct information please post it.

Update: I went to the dealer today (Tuesday 12-09) to obtain information regarding the RES+. According to the dealer the system cannot be installed on 2013 ES cars. Only on 2014 (ES) and forward. Didn't ask about other Lexus models. I'll now look at the Viper Smart Start remote which will require one to carry two (2) key fobs.

I have it in my '13 and it works fine. I don't remember exactly but I did purchase it from Sewell or Autonation Toyota and installed it myself and it works fine.

All that was needed after the install was to bring it to the dealer to register it with the Techstream tool. They did it at no charge for me.

Look for my posts and you will find my responses to this.

I should have mentioned that the wiring harness is already in the car and can be used for RES or RES+ . The technology for RES+ is totally contained in the RES/RES+ module. It merely communicates with the CAN Bus to do it's thing. Once it's installed the Techstream tool can see it on the Bus.

This is really poor on Lexus' part. I don't think that if I bought the system that the dealer would install it. So much unnecessary confusion. Is the installation manual available online?

Actually the dealer had no clue what to do when I first mentioned it to them. I had the registration instructions with me and showed it to them and then they understood what was needed. I can't speak for any other dealer but that was the case here. Still they did not charge me for it. That was good on their part. You would think though that the registration would be included in the price of purchasing RES+ but I don't think that is the case.
