I noticed that the LaCrosse (same platform as Impala/XTS?) is not recommended due to Below Average Reliability.

Wow
Haven't been around in some time since we went from our RX's to the 2012 Audi Q 5 but was interested in maybe trading in our Q 5 for a A 6 or a ES, now I read that we should check out the Impala too.
Very interesting indeed.

After back to back ES350's we bought a 2013 Q5. So far so good - We like it. It's too early to tell what our next car will be

"Below Average Reliability"
This seems to be a common issue with GM vehicles. I stopped being a GM customer in 2006 (I was a pretty loyal GM customer prior) because every vehicle I owned seemed to have below average reliability.
I think when it comes to overall value including initial cost, total cost of ownership including resale value, safety, reliability, warranty, etc., Lexus is an exceptional overall value and the dealerships offer a level of service and convenience second to none.

GM of old. Wait and see what modern day GM can do...2006 may as well have been 40 years ago with the changes at GM since then.

"Wait and see what modern day GM can do"
Based on LexBob2's comments "I noticed that the LaCrosse (same platform as Impala/XTS?) is not recommended due to Below Average Reliability.", I think modern day GM still can't do it.
I doubt that GM could ever provide the quality and extremely high level of service that Lexus provides, nor will I ever consider trying another GM vehicle as long as Lexus/Toyota are around..

CONSISTENT poor reliability ratings given GM vehicles and LaCrosse in particular. I'm glad that I bought the Lexus...

The wife's LaCrosse has 34K miles and has never been in the shop for any type of repairs.
The seats cool and the steering wheel heats better than the ES. Doesn't get near the gas mileage of the ES.
All-in-all we have been very pleased. 6 more months and it gets replaced with an RX350.

A pretty good test is look at the ebay motors listings.....You will not find a used 2013 ES350 for sale. I kept a piece of crap 2012 Audi A4 for 10 months before dumping it to get back into a Lexus. Last I looked there were 19 2012 A4's listed with less than 10K miles. I don't remember the number of 2013's listed. Not knocking the Audi's with quattro, larger motors, particularly not the Q5's, but if you are considering an A4 or 5 with a CVT, 2.0T, I would strongly advise against it.
& to the GM guys.....I wouldn't give-up my C5 convertible....for those days I want to light my hair on fire.

OOOPS....Yourself. This link shows new Lexus, I said Used. If you check, you will find 1 used ES350, approx 1,500 miles and 3 used ES300 Hybrids.
My point was simply....Lexus folks are not turning in their ES350, and they maybe happier with their choices.
