Default MPG for current trip

It seems strange to me that there's no mention of MPG on the Trip Information screen. That seems like one of the more interesting data points but it's not there (as compared to Average Speed, which doesn't seem as interesting). As far as I can tell, the only way to get MPG for the current trip is to reset the Multi-Function display (press Disp for longer than a second) at the start of the trip. But I might be tracking average MPG over, say, a month or so and resetting that just for a single trip is a shame.

There's the "Current MPG" "slider" but that's a point in time and constantly changing. I am curious whether there's any easy way to see MPG for the current trip. As I say, it seems like a pretty common and interesting data point.

Thanks.

Mark

Default 3 Methods for Tracking Mileage

There are 3 methods for mileage if you have the Navigation package:
1. On the instrument display has mileage since last fill up
2. Multi Function Display summary fuel consumption, which has to be manually reset for each trip or purpose
3. Eco which is the instant MPG.

There isn't an automatic per trip reading. Wish there was

I'm curious to know if Lexus ever upgrade the software in the navigation package to address user feedback, bugs, etc? I just got my ES 300h on Saturday so have no idea.

Thanks.

I use a Scan Gauge for trip info - it is easy to install (connector plugs in) and mount (I mounted mine with velcro on the steering column).

Look around page 110 and 116 of the manual for Energy Monitor, Trip information and Fuel Consumption--I think you'll find maybe more than you want.

I looked at those on line. They look pretty cool. Do you find it a lot more accurate than the car's avg MPG on the instrument panel display?

With all the setup choices still boil down to the 3 types of MPG info.

the Navigation package:
1. On the instrument display has mileage since last fill up
2. Multi Function Display summary fuel consumption, which has to be manually reset for each trip or purpose
3. Eco which is the instant MPG.

"Do you find it a lot more accurate than the car's avg MPG"

I find the two are more often than not very, very close in their values.
