Default Are ventilated seats pointless?

I test drive the 300h twice over the weekend along with the Avalon Hybrid and noticed that in both cars, the ventilated seats feature is pretty much worthless to me.

I could not feel a daym thing.

The Toyota sales guy had an IQ of probably 100. The Lexus sales guy was probably at 105.

I wish I would have been able to get the seats only. The best damn invention ever made IMHO. Spend all day getting in and out of the car wearing pants and my back side tends to sweat. The seats keep me nice and comfortable.

Ventilated seats on ES are not the best. My dealer said its normal on the ES and there have been many complaints about the ventilated seats not working properly.

I look for Lexus to bring back the seat cooling in the next year or two - where the seat ventilation is actually connected to the A/C. There are too many complaints about it, including myself.

You must distinguish between ventilated and cooled seats. They seem to work fine as they are designed to work, keeping you from sticking to the seat in hot weather. Having the a/c vents set to bi-level (floor and vents) seems to work better than just having the top a/c vents on. They are NOT designed to cool you behind.

The ventilated seats are pretty lame. I mentioned in another thread that I'm contemplating taking mine in as I honestly can't tell if it's working, although I do hear the motor humming. Does anybody know if it pushes air out or does it suck air back in, extracting heat from your body? I know my Acura had the latter and it was amazing.

They push air out, and although I generally cannot feel a breeze, they definitely do work.

The ventilated seats are worthless in the ES. Love the heated seats in the winter though!

I agree that the performance of the ventilated seats leave something to be desired but after having two ES350's with them, I'd much rather have them than to not have them.

On a hot day, or a long drive, they do make things more comfortable.

Not sure about in the ES but I've enjoyed the ventilated seats in my IS for the last 7+ years. In fact, they've spoiled me!

I have had them in other cards and they were great in the eh they are worthless. I complained to the dealer he said it is normal operation. But then very time I ask the dealer about an issue he says that is normal operation.

I was just in a 2010 ES and the ventilated seats worked much better than in my 2013. Not really a huge issue for me, just would be nice if they worked a little better.

On a side note, those of you looking for a digital clock, sunglass holder and a compass in the mirror, should consider a 2010. Riding in it really made me appreciate mine that much more. They've really come a long way in modernizing the ES. In the 2010, I felt like I was in an old Toyota with a slightly upgraded interior. The exterior didn't do anything for me, either.

"I was just in a 2010 ES and the ventilated seats worked much better than in my 2013"

While it is true that there is more airflow than the 2010 ES (I had one), the 2010 did not have any air flow for the seat back which the 2013 does have, and in spite of the lack of noticeable air flow, they do work - we currently have temperatures during the daytime of 90+ and my bottom is always comfy.

Perhaps those having issue with them are not turning the a/c on!

TRUE

The VENTELATED Seats in my 2013 300h are about 98 % useless.
The VENTELATED Seats I had in my 2007 Lexus ES were a little better or about 90% useless

Only Air Condition Seats are cool, In my 2011 Chevy. Tahoe they are 100% Useful l VERY COLD !!! They could not be any better!!!
