ES350 with Nav show a digital clock
As nice as the analog clock is, me and the wife prefer a digital clock for checking time (especially if she or I try to read it from the backseat with the baby). Besides in the Nav setting System Time section is there anyway to display it while looking at the GPS or Media modes or within the center gauge display area?

I drove a rental car of VW CC during a business trip a few months ago in Germany. It has an analog clock. But it is fully controlled by center console electronics system. So all the times displayed on center console (GPS), center gauge area and the analog clock are synced. When I saw two adjust buttons on ES' analog clock, I knew it is most likely not electrically controlled and synced. If Lexus had a digital time displayed on LCD screen, it would have been different from the analog clock.

Just went to check and the analog clock doesn't electronically sync with the Nav time, seems very un Lexus like. Either way i'd prefer the nav clock since it's automatically synchronized by GPS

Well after playing with everything in the Nav and talking with someone at the dealership it seems as if the Nav's system clock is completely pointless since it cannot be displayed on any of the primary Nav functions.

For just a few dollars, you can buy an attractive digital clock that syncs to the ultra accurate Atomic Clock so you always have the right time and never have to set it. You can easily attach it somewhere on your dash with two sided tape.

hah this sounds like something Lexus should sell as an official product or add-on to the 2013 ES.

I like the new clock! And it keeps great time! Very similar in design to MB's latest clocks. But it would be nice if, like MB, it was 'linked' to the Navigation clock. But of course, if the Nav clock was not linked to the Atomic clock or some other accurate time source....
Analog seems to be the trend.

Iit's just when my wife is sitting in back with the baby she cannot read the analog clock since she only needs to wear glasses while driving and a digital would be much easier for her to read herself while squinting.

Sure or you can whip out your mobile phone to check the clock on that, but instead the engineers have made a pretty silly oversight within their navigation capabilities especially since the navigation wants to know your timezone and DST settings for it's clock yet there isn't any practical way to display it. Obviously this isn't a deal breaker for us, more a rant at this point.
