How to get 18" wheels
I'm purchasing a new ES350 for my wife, but am going round and round with the dealer on some options. I know a lot of it is Luxus "packaging", but I finally got him to admit that some items can be dealer order "in some regions".
An example are the 18" wheels. I much prefer them, and we are looking at the Luxury package w/upgrades in Nav and Audio, but he says in our region (N/E Ohio) they only come on the Ultra Luxury.
I did some searching on the Internet and found some Luxury builds with the 18" wheels, but don't know if there is a way to do a broad search to find the car I want. I'd be willing to fly and pick up a car rather then pay what my dealer says is a $1200 upcharge to transfer a car from another region.

You 'could' ask the dealer to call around for you. Or if you've already worked out your price then call around yourself and try to better the deal (while looking for the one you want). Also a good excuse (on the way back) to travel photogenic Route 66 in your new ride . If you call dealers in southern Ca., you'll find the better equipped models as well as the steepest discounts (usually). If you compare list to list you are very likely to find a discount greater than what you have at your home dealer that would pay for the gas and flight together. Keep in mind the highest package adds about 5k to the sticker or just over 10k from base price.
Your warranty is through Lexus and good at any Lexus dealer regardless of where in the U.S. you bought it. You can even save money for routine service (once your freebies are over) by servicing at Toyota for a dramatic savings.
