I am coming from an IS350, honestly not going to lie I am very depressed losing a 105 hp. Cheer me up guys...

I pick up the car and drop off my 350 Wednesday.

Fuel savings/New Lexus Tech

On the test drive the car felt pretty smooth and the acceleration seemed decent. But then I have been reminded it is a Camry engine.

It's more of a transition for me...

I had a hard time going to a sedan but love the space and comfort. I would have loved to get a GS but didn't want to append the extra $$$. I hope you like the ES it really is a nice comfortable ride with a sporty look

I have a buddy that went from an IS to an ES in 2011 and loves the ES. While he really liked the IS, he likes the size and smoothness of the ride of the ES. He also likes the ES maintenance better in that he seemed to be replacing the sport performance tires very frequently. I am sure that a factor for him was that it ES is just more practical.

During the test drive I don't know if I was going crazy but is the whole odometer an lcd screen? Every time the sales guy would hit a button the whole damn thing would change on me.

you could've gone with the GS hybrid if you're missing the "performance"

but in terms of the fuel economy, it's not what you drive, it's how you drive.

I could always still back out of the purchase agreement as they don't have the check and agreement was reached last night. Rolling around in green does sound good.

New one is nice but the value of my current IS will drop once they release the vehicle. Trying to get the most for my trade in!

I've got the ES300h, and think it pulls nicely below 50mph.

over 50mph is where you may miss that 100hp,

But how often do you need to jump on the 'go peddle' over 50?

As you can see by my sig. I drive a slightly modified ISF and my wife an ES350. She loves her car, doesn't even want to try to drive mine, but we use mine for date night and on trips (we used her's once for a trip to Las Vegas. Anyway, I absolutely hate to drive her car. It's quiet and smooth, but the handling, torque steer and lack of seat bolstering, not my cup of tea. That's why Lexus makes different vehicles aimed at different audiences. If you appreciate the handling and power of your IS350, the ES350 will wear on you over time. Just my humble opinion.
