Comparison of Vleds with OEM Led Fog Lamps
Here are some pic’s of:
2013 Es300H has the 5000k Led by Vleds
The Vleds seem more brighter and in my opinion are not for ascthetics. The Light up the front
1st pic is of the front that shows the Leds, they seem as bright as the OEM HID’s
2nd pic is with the Led Fogs off
3rd is with the Led Fogs on

Comparison of Vleds with Oem Fog Lamps
Here are some pic’s of:
2014 RX350 that has the Factory Oem Led Fog Lamps installed after delivery
The Factory Fog Lamps seem less brighter while looking on the ground in front of the Nose. Here I would agree that the Oem Fog lamps are more for looks. See 2nd and 3rd pics.
2nd pic Fogs are off and 3rd pic Fogs are on
Pics 4 and 5 Show distinctive cut off lines.
Pic 4 show they are on, and pic 5 show they are off.
I would say that the Oem Fog Lamps throw more light out into the distance and Vleds through light more down towards the front of the nose.

A320- Thanks for sharing your pics. They really "illuminate" the differences. I see the OEM fogs do have a very distinct cut off, almost a tight line which is why they throw out further and not closer unless they're aimed down.
I guess you're happy with the new OEM compared to the Vled?

I did want to keep the RX all oem as opposed to vleds aftermarket, that's why I spent the $$$ for the oem fogs.

So reading some of the past discussion, I'm surprised that the 2014 RX doesn't have led fogs like the 2014 ES. At 226 for the pair, for OEM, I could do worst on other Lexus parts or service.

Steve,
I took a few pics with my phone when I was installing the bulbs. The best pic was when I installed one VLED on the driver side and left the passenger side stock. You can really see the difference ! I'll post the pic as soon as I can.

Okay after much delay I finally bought a set of HID bulbs for my fog lights. I went with a Zenex HID kit off Amazon: Slim ballast, 35 watt. Installed the same lights in the headlights of my friends 2014 Mazda 6. Plug and play and worked without an issue. After hearing so many people say they had H11 bulbs, I ordered the H11 set for my fogs. Turns out it was wrong.... My car had H16 fog light bulbs. It is a 2013 late year model with the recall already completed before I took delivery. Anyways, I dremeled out the tabs of the H11 bulbs so they would fit and install. Installed one, turned it on, works perfect. Installed the other, turned on works perfect.
Problem is this: When both fog light bulbs are plugged in and then turned on, they stay on for 4 seconds then turn off immediately. After that you turn off the lights then back on and the lights illuminate for one second then turn off.
I've tried unplugging one and then the other will stay on, so I know both ballasts and bulbs are fine. I've also tried my friends 35w non slim ballasts and same result. I'm guessing it's taking too much current draw when both are on? Or it has an issue with the DRL pulses conflicting with the bulbs?
I bought a relay off ebay and will try and see if that will rectify the issue. If anyone else experienced this and/or fixed it please give me some advice here.
Thanks!
Link to what I bought: but in the H11, 4300k variant.
