Pricing Thread - Deals you are getting?

Unpublished Factory to dealer incentives matter alot too. Toyota is going all out trying to move Camry's so is giving dealers generous secret incentives that enable them to sell even base model Camry's for $4,000 off a $24,000 MSRP and still make a decent profit.

Lead Lap
Even without unpublished incentives, it should be possible to get a significantly bigger discount from MSRP on a Camry (or an Avalon) because the difference between MSRP and invoice is significantly bigger with the Toyotas than it is with the ES or other Lexus models.

Same dealer told me that any ES-350 that has the luxury package come with 18" wheels (and add $800 to the price. . Is that true? Does the larger tire size negatively effect gas mileage?

Larger wheels look nicer and handle better, but may effect your mpg since you tend to drive more aggressively, IMHO .

If I'm not mistaken, the 18" may be required with the UL package. It can vary, but Lexus tends to add options or packages so unless you custom order, you're stuck with packages or options you don't necessarily want.

Why don't you want the 18" wheels? They make the car look much better. If you really want the 17's, I'm sure the dealer would work out something with you.

One local dealer had a fully loaded (had every option I know of plus ultra luxury package) ES350 for $48,298
They were only willing to discount 9% off MSRP. I countered with 12% and they rejected.
9% discount on a car like that comes to $47,775 OTD price.
I'm looking/hoping for $3,000 less then that. $44,800 otd

I read several reviews online that the 18" provide a rougher ride and apparently they wear out much faster. Honestly, I'm on the fence regarding the tires.

As far as being offered 9% off MSRP, that's not bad where I live. You could probably get some money off for switching out the tires to 17", if you're not happy with how they ride.

Firstly thank the dealer very much for helping you and express your disappointment you couldn't make it work. You understand their position and tell them you will find something elsewhere. Then walk. I'm pretty sure they will call to make the deal.
If they don't keep looking and be patient. You will find one for a better price than they're offering. I don't think your target is unattainable. Eventually someone will yield.

Where did you find this deal? I'm in the market for almost the same exact specs and the best I have thus far is $43.9k.
