Exclamation 2013 ES now official with a hybrid version

I like the interior/exterior design -- modern, yet Lexus-elegant.

The interior looks better in these pictures vs. the partial pics from China.

Dang - my 08 seems like a turd next to this one.

I see in the close up pic of the console that it has a heated steering wheel and Eco/Normal/Sport mode selector... nice.

My 2002 Maxima had a heated steering wheel and it was the best option - I really thought by now that'd be on a lot more cars.

LOL!!

This looks nice! I'm in a 07 GS350 now and this ES may be on the list for my next car.

Full press release from Lexus:

http://goo.gl/K4dLC

Interesting excerpts:

"A newly sculptured seat enhances driver comfort. The steering wheel angle has been reduced from 24 degrees to 22 degrees for a more natural control position. Fluid-filled engine mounts, new sound absorbing materials and a tuned engine intake minimize the intrusion of outside noise. "

"Suspension and steering changes and a stiffer body deliver more precise handling. Opposite-wound coil springs on the front suspension enhance straight-line stability. Revised rear suspension geometry and improved shock absorber damping characteristics enhance ride comfort. A reduction in the steering gear ratio delivers a more responsive and direct steering feel. Increased body rigidity is achieved through lightweight, high tensile strength steel, added bracing and additional spot welds. Despite its larger size, roomier interior and additional luxury appointments, the weight of the new ES is reduced by almost 90 pounds."

So typical Lexus refinement and attention to detail is not lost. And stiffer + lighter chassis will improve handling -- sounds like a winning combination if this marketing material translates to reality. I shall be keeping my fingers crossed.

Like the new version but I would have hoped for a better integration of the dual exhaust outlets ala LS.

Overall, not bad, I think a little more thought with the integration of the dashboard would have made a big difference. Still the hood line I don't get it. I think I will probably be more impressed when I see it in person, but all in all, I'm feeling a lot better than before .

The new ES will sell like hotcakes! Possibly interested in purchasing one once they arrive in showrooms. Just hope the door armrests offer some actual support and are not similar to those in the new GS which provide little surface area to rest your elbows.

These are going to sell like crazy, it looks great and it will pick up all of the people who didn't want to pay so much for the GS. About ten grand cheaper, it's gonna be a hit

Wow, these pic's definetly make the car look much better and I am liking this better now. I have a 2011 and depending on a test drive may be interested in a trade-in.... This does look better then the GS, Lexus has done a great job, can't wait to see what the new LS will look like.
