Default 07 ES 350 Engine Wont Shut Off after Pushing Stop

Help. My 2007 lexus es 350 engine will not shut off after I push the off button. the everything goes off except the engine and the dash lights. I have to disconnect the battery to shut off the engine. The car does not have a remote start. could it be a relay and if so which one.

Last night I left the car battery disconnected and then this morning reattached and everything seemed fine. I started the car and let it fun for a couple minutes and then pushed the button and the car shut off. then about 2o minutes later the alarm went off. the remote wound not respond so I started the car and the alarm went off. then I pushed the button to turn it off and the same problem occurred. Any ideas for me out there would be appreciated

When did you last replace the FOB batteries?

New battery. You don't need the key around the car to turn it off

Could be a relay, one that is a little flaky. Unfortunately I don't have a wiring diagram handy. There's probably one or a link to one somewhere on clublexus.

It could also be a loose connection on the start button or the button itself may be hosed. Does the button feel sticky when you push it?

No the button is not sticky works same as always. Relays seem to be fine. Has a new starter.

When i push the button to turn off of the car everything goes off except dash panel and engine. I can pull the relay and the engine goes off but i hear a slight high pitched humming nice that seems to be coming from behind the engine/intake manifold area. It's not the starter making the noice

Take your vehicle to the dealership and have a technician diagnose this, you will most likely pay between 1-2hr for labor to diagnose it. Are there any DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) on? if you're unsure, have the dealership scan the vehicle. There may be an intermittent issue with either the ignition start switch button or the ecu. Here's a system diagram of how the key fob, switch and main ecu functions together to give you a better understanding of what your dealing with.

So I got a electrical diagnostic run. They called the next day and said the car started perfectly and no issues showed up on test.

Totally baffled, as AAA worker, tow driver and myself had all tried.

I went into deep thought and I think I figured it out. I was in the lowest part of parking deck underground, P5. I remember my navigation loading when battery was reconnecting. The underground parking lot does not have a connection to phone/wifi- you lose all connection at P1, I was on P5 where there is def no connection. So I think whatever computer inside the car could not connect and it locked it up. If I had just tried to reconnect battery outside of parking garage it prob would have started and shutdown properly.

If this wasnt the cause then I would guess something with the alarm system but doubtful. I had not shut the trunk all the way after leaving car and hitting the alarm system button on my electric key. But again seems doubtful as there was no intervening with the alarm after.

Car has been working great since.

Default Possible Solution

My car did the same thing. 2015 Lexus RX. I tried everything. The engine turned off but not the navigation or radio.
The only thing that shut it off was when I unplugged my car charger which was powering a portable battery pack.
