Lighting around perimeter of where controls...
are for temoerature control, radio control, etc.

Yes.. It is.
Question... Need to bring to dealership for no
lighting in gear shift area. Would the panel surrounding
the controls for temperature, etc. be affected by same
issue? 😱😱

How about checking for a blown fuse, especially when more than one area is affected?

page 315 or so of the owners manual gives the drivers side fuse layout and engine compartment fuse layout
