Navigation system slow to respond 2011 ES350
First I would like to say since I joined on 5.22.2013 I’ve read all the great post and DIY’s that persons have posted to help others. Many thanks to all. I didn’t think I would ever have any problems with our first Lexus but here I am.
Recently we reactivated the Lexus inform safety connect. The next morning the Navigation system started to have problems. Coincidence? This affected the touch screen, backup camera and buttons around it. It sometimes takes about a minute for things to respond. Of course I never brought an extended warranty with any of my cars including this one and the 4/50K warranty went out last month. But the extended warranty is still something I am working on since it is still under 40K.
I read the Frozen Navigation Screen Fix DIY thread on how to fix this but still was unclear if the “frozen” and my slow to respond are the same problem. Nothing else seems to be affected. I had someone try to do an update on it but was told the DVD couldn’t be read. But test I did from hints on this great site tells me the Hard Drive is fine but maybe the DVD reader is the problem? It plays CDs with no problem.
I have pictures on what I captured on the test and would like your input on my dilemma on our first Lexus. 2011 ES350 less than 40k
