I was driving home today and noticed a loud fan squeal when I had the heat on. It is a constant squeal and gets louder as I increase the fan speed. It went away if I turned the fan system off. My drive was about 20 minutes and it squealed the entire time. I thought maybe it would go away as the car warmed up but it didn't. Anyone have any ideas or experience with an issue like this?

My fan is OK but I hear screatching sound when I adjust temperature.

The AC/heater fan is mounted (with three bolts) in the fan housing under the airfilter. It should be easily accessed by removing the cover under the glovebox (DO NOT disconnect the knee airbag electrical connector) and can be removed for inspection. Alternately, I believe that you may be able to check for rubbing/looseness/play etc. of the fan by removing the airfilter and reaching down and rotating the fan by hand.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I just assumed that the bearing in the blower motor was going out so I just replaced it. No more noise.
