Well, I hooked up the Techstream for the first time this evening. Lot of information going on there. Unfortunately, the Engine ECU would not connect for some reason, so I could not read anything about that item. Saw other historical data, but nothing related to any of the problems I am seeing. I guess I need to get connected to the engine ECU for it to really be useful.

Well, I was able to connect to the engine and tranny this afternoon. No codes current, pending, or historical for the transmission.
The engine showed 4 codes. 3 of which were historical and I already knew about. The one that was current was B2799, but I'm not sure that it really relates to the problem I am having, as that code deals with the keys and the engine immobilizer circuitry.
So other than that, no information from Techstream. I wonder if trying to recreate the problem while recording data would show anything.
Any thoughts?

I have that code too, and it has nothing to do with your problem. I mean, almost everybody has that code, that will occur when you leave the car with engine running.

I can make my 2011 do this all day long if I floor it before it gets -fully- warmed up. My Avalon did the exact same thing.

This was after I got off the highway on the way to work, so the car was plenty warm, but thanks for the feedback.

Here's a blurb from Autoweek's review of XSE Camry today.

I've had the same "dead throttle" response more than a few times. Typically it happens on slow acceleration into a turn. Once about midway through, on applying slightly more throttle, it feels like it "bogs down" a little and my body shifts forward just so slightly, not expecting it. Usually at that point I either go with the flow and let it catch up or if I'm frustrated, I'll jam the accelerator and it wakes up.

Almost as if it is trying to do some form of traction control - however, these are slow speed turns with no rain and no where near the limit of the car/tire traction. No Traction Control light on at the time, either.
