Default Backlight question...

First time I drove my ES at night. Was surprised that the area under and around the Nav screen
is not lighted, except for the indicator showing which AC/Heater option. Do you actually have
to switch on the cabin lights so you can see to turn on the radio, switch to a different AC or heater option, etc.? Just checking in case the back lights are burned out!
Thanks!

The whole center console control panel lights up like a christmas tree! Green lights in all the push buttons around the Nav screen, and circular lights around the radio buttons as well among others that I've forgotten.

That wouldn't insult me. What would are the commenters who say look at your Manual.
If they don't have an answer, please don't tell me to look in the Manual. 😱😱
