Can anyone tell me or tell me where I can find out what the latest Navigation DVD version is for a 2007 ES 350? Thanks!

Version 14 just came out

http://lexus.sewellparts.com/data/v14.php

Sewell is selling it with an added discount for our members; make sure you establish your account there listing Club Lexus on setup for our discount (Nav disk comes out to $93 something during the pre-January special)

Will I be able to update the 2010 navigation by myself, or do i need to do it at the dealership?

It's possible, but they don't come with instructions. I'm sure it's on here somewhere though.

2010+ models with the HD nav need to be done at the dealership.

Darn it. I'm guessing my local Lexus will charge 169 for the HD, so i'll buy it from Sewell at least. Thanks Bob!

For the installation of the update, check your dealer's web site for Service Specials or coupons. Many dealers will offer 10%, 15% or 20% off service work. Not a huge deal but you'd save a few bucks.

Is there any info as to what the update covers. Were there any significant changes that would even make the update worthwhile.

I had a service appointment set up to get the usb upgrade for $199 at the dealer, then saw Garmin had some new models out. After looking at them a bit, I decided to overnight a 2639 6" Nuvi just for the heck of it since I keep hearing how much better aftermarket is vs. factory. Thought the 6" was a good compromise between 5" and 7".

Didn't really want a tacky gps next to a perfectly good one but thought what the heck, give it a shot. Stuck it on a cup holder mount and cranked it up.

Wow. All I can say. Bright, colorful, clear voice, and incredibly detailed directions. 'Turn right in half a mile at the next light past the Shell station', or, 'In one mile take the next right exit to the beltway, then stay in one of the left two lanes and go left'. And the display is really nice to look at too.

Hate it sitting there looking goofy, but the directions are so much better, and it's really refreshing to see some 'color' on the screen instead of the blue/grey/pink of the Lexus map. Especially those blue exit arrows that are impossible to see with sunglasses on.

Highly recommended for essentially the same price as a dealer update, or get the higher priced one if you like to yell at your nav.

Although I prefer an integrated system, I REALLY like the sound of the nav instructions that you described.
