30K service
Well I did my 30K service yesterday. I went through the check list and it took me about 3 hours but then again being retired it was no big deal (it was raining anyway). Just as a little info to the oil change folks I use a vacuum extractor and pulled out just a little over 6 quarts. Then there was a little in the filter which I still think is a poor design. So the refill was a round 6 1/4 quarts to fill it. I also managed to lose one of the plastic plugs that held down the air filter cover but I'll just have to get a few spares. I did not bleed the brakes as I noticed the fluid level down a bit and after checking the brake pads I'll get another 5-8K miles before I'll need to replace them. I am still amazed at the tires and did another rotation but my bet is I'll replace then by spring. So the net is $75 for parts and labor was on me.
