Wifey just bought an ES350. The dealership is painting the hood due to some chips inthe paint so she is suppose to get it in 2 days. It has the base 17" wheels and no nav.... so now the fun begins.....

I found a set of 19" GSF factory wheels/tires that im going to get her.. as long as they fit...

I also found a factory navigation that Id like to get her in time.. arent those basically plug and play? She could care less about the nav,, but really wants the screen. The non nav setups look bad outdated compared to other luxury setups....

For the stock nav unit im just curious as to how much it would cost you? Just the nav unit or also the radio/cd unit also?
It is not plug and play. This is from the IS forum but itll be quite similar. Most members just go with a double din kit or if youre advanced enough you can fiberglass your own port into the dash.

One set of wheels Im looking at is OEM 19" wheels off a GSF the tires are 235/40/19 upfront and 265/35/19 in the rear.
Im also looking at a set of 19" wheels off ebay.. Fronts are 19x8s and rears are 19x9.5 with a 35 offset.. The site claims they will fit an ES350 but I'd def like to make sure.

I been reading up on it and I believe the double din is a much easier way to go..

what do you guys think about the wheels? would that size be ok for her new ride?

That wheel set up will make the ride more harsh. It will not keep the same soft ride that it has now. Is this what your wife wants, or is this what YOU want? Make sure she's happy!

Ha,, well you got me.. She likes the way it rides but did ask for me to find her some "sporty" wheels. The tires are going to have to be replaced soon so i was gonna try to just change it all.

You won't get those GSF rims to fit without major mods or by running spacers to clear your struts which will give you a bad wobble at high speeds. The widest you can go is 8.5" with a +35 offset without compromising ride quality. I'm running some 20" venza wheels wheels which are 7.5" wide, tires are 225/35/20 and I have no issues with ride quality. I had some LFA rims before these and had to sell them because they were 9.5" wide in the rear and they touched the struts and were flush with the quarter, once you add the 10mm spacer your rims will poke out past the quarter, rub and will be more prone to stone chips also ride quality will be horrible unless you adjust your camber which will cause your tires to wear uneven. If I were you I would look for a set no wider than 8.5" in the front and rear which will allow you to rotate your tires and will save you money on tires in the future as a staggered set is more expensive.

Thanks sick350.. Thats exactly the info I was looking for. how do you like the 20s? I wasn't sure if the 20s would be too much so thats why i been looking for 19s..
Also,, her es350 is black and i was thinking of going with the dark gray wheels,, whats yall's thoughts on that?

I love them, I've ran 4 different sets of 20" rims between my 07 es350 and my 02 es300 and ride quality has never been a problem. You do have to avoid potholes like the plague with the low profile tires.

I'd stick to 8.0 max unless you're willing to start rolling/shaving/pulling fenders and running some camber. The front wheel well is considerably smaller than the rear. So if possible id order the wheels with a more aggressive offset than the fronts by ~10-15 to bring them closer to the fender without need for spacers.
