what the poster ment was when you get to half tank mark on your fuel gauge stop at the gas station fill it up it it doesn't take anymore then lets say 4 gallons then you have a bad fuel guage sensor or fuel level sensor most likely.
if your at half a tank on the fuel gauge then you should be able to pump around 7 gallons into the car atleast

In my 08 ES350, half a tank indicated is more half a tank used judged by fill up volume (9 gallons or more.)

If your car is running normal and everything checks out your low fuel efficiency is one of two things:

1. Driving style (the most common culprit)
2. Traffic conditions (usually traffic isn't bad all of the time).

Yup
I drove my car just now and after driving 10-15 miles my tank avg changed to 16.8. Seems like my wife has a heavy foot..

still concerned about low fuel range

guess it just come down to how much your drive city or local how heavy you are on the gas but i still don't see how the heck the op can use the amount of fuel that is used in half a tank to only get 100 miles
