For a Smoother ride ?
i am wondering
i know that i have new struts and that has helped the ride but now i realize i see and feel its a bit stiffer im guessing probably because the struts have less play since the old ones had almost 80k on them
I am wondering is there ever a recommended time that Control Arm bushings should be replaced ?
and am i correct in thinking that replacing the control arm bushings would give the ride a bit softer and smoother over bumps and cracks in the road ?
Or am i thinking about this wrong ?

As you replace parts, it'll return the ride to what was normal from the factory. Replacing the bushings will reduce play (similar to replacing the struts, but less so with the control arm bushings) and keep the car more stable in bumps, even if the ride seems harsher.
Ultimately, worn parts can make the car float and be more unpredictable in bumps and turns. I doubt your control arm bushings are worn to the point of needing replaced at 80k, but they'd need inspected to determine that. Mileage alone won't give a clear indication.
