Black wheels are just a way of people telling me they couldn't afford wheels but wanted to make their car cooler when in reality it most of the time it looks cheap.....at least that's how I see it.

Black wheels to me says the owner has no imagination...plus you can't see them at all when they blend it with the tires...which are also black by the way.
Now charcoal grey or something along those lines...that has interest and is visually appealing, IMHO.
damn tough crowd....guess everyone's very old in this section....Personally i've had many wheels and different finishes, it all depends on the theme i wanted. I don't think all black wheels look good on a es but maybe if it had a polished lip to give it some contrast...
I guess, being in winter capital of the world, where every car has black steel wheels on for about half a year, I too am not too crazy about seeing any black wheels on a car. A polished lip would certainly help in the looks - that's me though

I am old (56) But that doesn't mean I'm dead, LOL!
I have had more wheels on my cars over the years than anyone on this planet (probably not a joke) ,here's my '70 Chevelle that was on the cover of CHP magazine, my 2nd cover there and 3rd feature...my point is you're right, a polished hoop breaks up the look of the wheel as these are done here, spokes are a dark grey...sorry for the highjack,LOL!
