Default Why would I like an ES350 over my 07 LS460

Thinking about trading my 2007 LS 460 w 76K for a 2008 ES350 w 30K. Asking ES owners what would be the advantage. I live in New England. Thanks you.

Snow performance. Aside from that, nothing compelling.

Less Atracktive to Gold Diggers ok lol i just had to couldn't resist

better MPG if you own your LS right out and down't owe on it you can come out of that deal with atleast 6 or 7k in your pocket to take on a vacation id think or put away for a rainy day

me i wanted an 07 LS but i just didn't want to spent 27k at the time i only was wiling to go 17k for the es

Insurance might be cheaper

If it fits into your budget you might look at a 2010. The first year of the mid-cycle refresh and the car got some nice and needed (IMO) interior and exterior changes. If you want navigation it was also the first year of the HD system.

Have you driven the ES? There will be a big difference between it and the LS you have now.

They are very different. I'd test drive the ES and see how I like it. It's like with shoes: they must feel and look good on

You wouldn't.

I had two ES's, a 2003 I put 160k miles on and a 2010 I put 50k miles on. The ES is a great car, but the only reason to buy an ES over an LS is the used vs new argument. Before buying both of my ES's I considered 3 year old CPO LS's, a 2000 in 2003, or a 2006 430 or 2007 460 in 2010. I have extensive experience with the LS400 and LS430 because my Dad had one of each. The only reason why I went with the ES each time was a desire for new over used and a desire to lease.

The LS is a FAR superior car in every way. Its better built, more refined, more solid, smoother, quieter, more spacious. Its just a better car, as one would expect for the price difference.

If you have a 2007 that is well cared for with only 75k miles I would keep that any day over even a brand new 2013 ES, let alone an 08 ES.

Take some of the money you would save by not trading the LS and buy a good set of snow tires, maybe mounted on wheels from Tire Rack, use the wonderfully perfect front seat to sit on while steering safely through the snow, listen to the sweet sound of the V8. The ES350 is not a bad choice, but why give up a car that stickered for at least 25K more than an ES. The LS seat would absolutely do it for me. As far as know, it is impossible to drive either car without sitting in the front left seat. I like my 2012 ES, but I question whether or not I would have been happier with a used LS.

I have the reverse situation, want to buy a LS460. I owned a ES350 2008 UL right now with almost 200 000km on it at running like a charm. But, i want to leap to the LS family. Problem is, i loved the panoramic roof of the ES and the good fuel economy which i will loose on the LS. I'm not familiar with the V8 since i always has 4-6 cylinders before.

The panoramic roof is a change, but from a fuel economy standpoint the difference isn't that extreme.
