That's why I drive my vehicles until I have 300,000 on my sales vehicle and 200,000+ on my wife's car. I keep them in perfect shape and detailed but the odometer scares'em a lot of buyers off. My wife's ES300 which she drove for 14 years is now close to 300,000 with the current owner.

A quick google search shows tons of threads on the subject.
sorry but you won't be able to convince me that its always has to come down to Buyer beware or els

youre right, i wish i could afford a new lexus....
did not realize a 11 year old lexus would be worth so little.
im sorry but i don't agree with the so little price
i think its perfectly find to think your 11 year old lexus could be worth maybe 8k when the time comes
why do i feel this ?
simple
no asking price is one thing and sale price is totally different

but i see 2000-2006 GS LS ES models still holding there value

an 2004 ES330 with 60k could sell for about 13000-14000 iv seen it recently
where one with 200k could sell for about 8000 to 9000

A 2002 GS model i i see them up in Ohio sell for 10000 11000 $ all the time with 100-150k on them

an 2004 LS 430 a friend just sold his 430 with 132k on it he got 11k on the trade in value of it and he was only buying a 4 year new LS
no incentives for the dealer he got a fair price on it and they can sell it and make a fair price on it also

but don't take into account that just because cars go down in value its going to be worthless
unless the U.S go bust and we go into a Depression again and i mean a real depression i bet my 07 ES350 in 4 years form now with 200k on it if i cant sell it for alteast 8000 and not ripping someone off then something is wrong

We can agree to disagree as far as I'm concerned. I used my pricing based off of a 2003 model, not 2004 since the 2014's are just coming out.

Go to car gurus.com and plug in a 2003 ES300 and use unlimited distance as a search parameter and you will find about 30 2003 models for sale.

They HAVE NOT SOLD for a reason. The higher priced ones are almost exclusively being offered by dealers! Duh. Now if they all had the same $5K minimum markup the OP's had, what would that make the trade values on these. Also keep in mind that anyone that pays attention to the websites "market value" is probably an idiot! If the market value is so great on these, why haven't they sold considering some of them are priced so far under it? Like I've said before, buyer beware. Anyone paying over book for an auto in this day and age needs to turn their money over to a professional money manager because if left to their own they won't have it long.

To the OP: Good luck in your shopping and I hope you find the vehicle of your desire soon. I'm also done with this thread. You can drop me a PM if I can help in anyway.

If ES is the car you want and there aren't any cheaper ones near by that you can find, then $17k is a good price...

how about looking outside your area ? i dont mean like 50 miles out but look as far out as you can
do you really need to buy it seen first ?
if your getting a CPO then you don;t have to worry about any mechanical or covered issues

10000s of people buy car and trucks boats and other autos sight un seen on a daily basis of the internet .& phone

you could go outside of your area i mean if there is a dream color cobination you want and you can only find it 1000 or 4000 miles away go for it shipping can be anywhere from 200 to 1000 each way depending on weahter you choose open or closed shipping

i paid 900 to have a Lincoln Continental shipped Enclosed auto transport from Sagle Idaho to Cleveland 5 years ago
and a friend just had his car from boston to clevelnd and back for like 500 each way open truck delivery

i know my uncle and dad pay like 2000 round trip to have there 4 cars shipped from Cleveland to Florida every winter back and spring 2 cars each for 2000 each enclosed shipping really isnt that much

The price of used vehicles is very regional. I just bought a 2007 ES 350 about a week ago. It had 68000 miles on it. Dealer "Q Certified" with a 2yr/100,000 powertrain warranty. 2yr/30,000 free oil changes and tire rotation. Fully loaded vehicle; minus the ultimate package roof. Cost me $18,000 + $499 for misc dealer BS charges.

Point is, different parts of the country, the price will change. I have a 1994 Ford Explorer 4x4 which is a POS for looks. BUT, it is very dependable, 4x4 works good. Dependable, etc... In Texas is decent condition, you MIGHT get $1,200 for it. Here in Wyoming, as soon as the first snow hits, you can sell any 4x4 vehicle for a lot more. Just like you can pick up a rear wheel drive lexus here for next to nothing because NO ONE will buy one. It's FWD or AWD or none at all. The Lexus dealer in Colorado sends a lot of RWD lexus to other dealerships and auctions around the country because almost no one will buy one. You can buy a RWD LS or GS series lexus for the same or cheaper than a FWD ES 350.
