Default Batteries in key fob....

Please let me know how long the batteries in your. Key fob lasted. Just curious as I
have a garage queen and they need to be replaced already. Little over 2 years.
Just curious. Feedback please!

I traded in a 2010 that had the original batteries in both fobs after 3 years. About the same length of time with a previous 2007. Moderate to light usage on both cars.

We have a 2007 and I just replaced the batteries for the 2nd time. Not a big deal either. When the dash warning light popped up, I reached into the glove compartment and pulled out my spare battery. I changed it in about 20 seconds. When I got home, I replaced the spare battery.

Don't forget that the fob is "ON" all the time--24/7. So battery life remains at around 2-3 years regardless of how often you drive the car.

I also keep a spare battery at home.

I replace the batteries in my FOBS every two years just to be safe . . . . not that expensive, so why risk it?

Just my .02 - - -

That's an excellent point.

Something you have to realize is that the batteries self-discharge depending on how long they've been sitting. This leads to less than a full charge regardless if it has been used. When you purchase doesn't matter. What matters is how long they've been sitting on the shelf.
