Tires balanced but the sterring still shakes at 75MPH.
I am at wits end.
My 2007 ES350 will not stop shaking at 75-80 MPH and when I decelerate it shakes till I get to 60. Frustrating.
They found the left read rim to be bent but I didn't expect the shake to be in the front. Both tires have been balanced and the rims are fine.
Could the transmission cause this problem?

well this isn't a fix it's just a cure for the problem but doesn't actualy fix what ever is wrong it just hides the issue if it works
so if you want to try this
just go find somewhere with a Hunter Road Force Machine and have it road forced if it is the wheel or tire thats the issue that should take care of it even without the wheel and tire being the issue ussualy takes care of it atleast with my old GM cadillac it did

if it happens when brakes are applied more than likely rotors. if it occurs once you are up to speeds above 50mph, its probably going be your tires. I had the same problem, rotated tires had them balanced no change. purchased 4 new tires the ride is silky smooth now

My nightmare is that it is a torque convertor problem. I really hope not.

If the balance was done at a Lexus dealer, I think it almost certainly was a road force balance. A tire and wheel does not have to be out of balance by much for the shaking to start above 70 mph. Also, an out of round tire can appear balanced on the machine but when it heats up at speed it could exhibit the condition you describe. Start with........ 1. Make sure wheel is true. 2. Have a radial run out done on tire, make sure it is round [sounds crazy, but you cannot tell by looking at a tire. 3. Have a road force balance done at a dealer,Lexus or Toyota.
Not having perfectly balanced tires really bugs me. I hope you have a good outcome!

IMO, the key here is if it is vibrating while braking or during off-pedals deceleration (letting it coast)...
If it is while the brakes are applied then it is most likely brake rotors and could be either front and/or rear. I've experienced rear rotor warp to cause it, and also new rotors being warped out of box. Otherwise, looking at wheel balance, tires worn out/improperly, tranny, etc..

Do you recall hitting a pothole or some other obstacle really hard? That could damage the ball joint and/or wheel bearing.
A simple thing is to check the backside of the brake rotors. Mud or other matter can stick to the air fins, causing an imbalance.

The car shouldn't shake. I had a 2007 and a 2010 and neither of them shook at any speed. I bought both of them new so I knew the history of them with no accidents or any trauma on the road.
