20" x 8.5" rim offsets for 2007 ES350
Hey everyone,
I have debating getting the lexani lss-8 for my 2007 ES350. I was wondering what offsets people have gotten away with and no rubbing issues, stock ride height. I'm pretty sure the rim shop was selling me 255/35/R20 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
Anyone have a similar size tire on 20" rims? or similar sized rims/offsets and care to comment on the rubbing issues? Any feedback would be great. I'm going to keep searching the forum in the meantime.
Thanks

Since you are going with 8.5 widths I am assuming you're trying to at least have the wheels not poke past the fender. If this is the case, you'll be looking at 35-40 offset with a 235 series tire. Shouldn't have much trouble with that setup at stock height. I know those specs will work without much problem.

Your car will ride horribly with wheels that large, fair warning.
With a 35 series tire at stock height you probably won't have rubbing issues except when turning full lock, especially with a 255 tire. The car will however look like a 4x4.
A 235 on an 8.5 will be stretched, and will cause more harm than good.

I definitely agree with jcat in regards to the roughness of the ride and wheel gap. Even with the stock suspension you will feel a very large increase in the amount of road feedback (bumpiness). With 45 series tires I felt only a very slight increase in this (stock suspension). With coil-overs it is quite noticeable with my (8,6) spring rates. If not for running almost full soft I would say that I would not use it as a daily driver due to its decrease in comfort level.
Less sidewall = less vibration absorption
Regardless, I will post some very useful websites for future seekers of wheel fitment.

That tire size is too tall and probably too wide. You'd need a 225/35. And you could use up to a 9" wide wheel. Whether or not it will look like a 4x4 is personal preference. I've seen plenty of previous gen ES's with 20s and they looked fine to me.

Thanks for the input, I just did a test fit with the 255/35's and they cleared, so far atleast. Im waiting for the winter to finish before i put them on and i will post the pics then. If they d rub after installation, i will likely head to the 235/35.
During the test fit, i didnt think the car looked like a 4x4 although i have seen a few ES's with that look. Personally, im not a big fan of that, im trying to keep the car relatively subtle.
Thanks for the info everyone.

Hello, I had 225/35R20 Nitto tires on a 8 inch width rim on my 02 es300 (factory suspension), I had no issue with rubbing or the ride. The only difference is you really have to watch the pot holes due to smaller sidewall.
As for the 07 es350 I plan on running 22's and Coilovers.
The photo is after coilovers were installed and fenders were rolled.

Hi
Here is my set, maybe will help somebody:
19 stance evolution rims
245*40*19 front 8,5 offset35
255*40*19 rear 9.5 offset 40
Personally I 90% like it, but it is kinda still wide...
Even i rolled rear fender a little, rear wheels rub a bit when you have 4 passengers and there are some bumps.
I would better go with:
235*40*19 front 8
245*40*19 rear 9
good luck!

245/40/19 in the front and 255/35/19 rear will be wide enough to avoid too much stretch but not so tall that you have clearance issues especially since you already rolled the fenders a bit.

looks like that can definitely mess with the integrity of the wheel.
