XM Satellite Not Working
The XM radio in 2008 ES 350 not working. No problem with AM and FM. Dealer says receiver LE 86180-0W032 must be replaced.
The dealer said that it was located in the trunk. Where in the trunk is it located and how can I get to it.
Thanks,
Claude151

Lead Lap
Located near the trunk lid hinge on the right side. I think you need to remove the r/h side panel to get at it. It's relatively large, about 1/2 the size of a typical cigar box, and painted black. Several wiring harnesses plug into it.
I hope your dealer has a receiver in stock that they saved, as Lexus only made a limited number of the XM "add-on" kits for 2007-2009 ES models which was exhausted several years ago. I found one or two receivers on eBay, but I needed the entire kit, not just the receiver. I wound up installing the Vaistech add-on XM which works fine (covered in other threads on this forum). If you can't find a Lexus receiver, you may check with Vais to see if they can help.
Good luck & let us know how this turns out....

XM Satellite Receiver Not Working
Dear RickC5,
Thanks for the info. I will look in the trunk where you described, then attempt to locate one to install myself. When the dealer gave me an estimate they put a note on the sheet stating "to make sure the receiver is compatible with Audio, Navigation, Hands Free and Bluetooth systems before ordering." Any truth in this or a scare tactic to discourage me from doing it myself?
Thanks,
Claude151
