Default Help with steering wheel swap???

I recently purchased a wood grain steering wheel for my 07 ES350 as my model didn't come with one, I'm trying to find someone has taken a wheel off and can explain the process, pictures would be amazing but Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would go to an auto repair/body shop and ask them what the process is. You would first need to shut down the airbag system which I would assume is linked into the CPU. My bet is this is a pretty tricky job and if you disarm the airbag you may need to get the computer reset by the dealer. If you blow the airbag you are looking at a pretty expensive deal. Good luck

Apparently, the washer/wiper switch goes with it...

I found this video while browsing. Thanks to the poster!

For the airbags just disconnect the positive battery terminal and wait ~1 minute before removing the airbag. Post back if you need any other info.

this will also reset all your saved info from the car... i.e. radio stations, previous destinations, home, state and all other previously changed settings.

edit: realized what you linked was from my thread

New buttons are in!, as soon as we get some reasonable weather I'm going to do the swap, I'll keep everyone following posted. Thanks for all the info!

Thumbs up Steering wheel is swaped!

That video I found on xanderES's thread was very helpful, the only thing it didn't show is how to remove the clock spring clips. There is yellow clips on each one, you have to pry them up with a small flat head screwdriver.

Nope, mine didn't come with it but I've installed a double din NAV screen with Bluetooth and ran the microphone to the factory spot.

Your car must have come with it, mine's a base model 07 and it had it, even though it had no other options. It's deceptive, doesn't quite scream at you. It's a couple layers deep in the radio menus.

Nope, there wasn't even a factory mic or Bluetooth button on the wheel.
