I tested the aftermarket mic in the factory spot and It worked great! I'm very happy with the clean look and how it turned out.

Hi your ES looks great. Thanks for the pics. I have a question. Some Lexus IS and ES ( as I am) owners from as far back as 2002 seem to be having issues with our dashboards becoming sticky about 3 to 4 years into ownership. I see you are in Ontario. It seems (even though I have not yet done any surveys) that longer duration, hotter climates may be a reason for this. Which is not acceptable at a three year point, if a all. I have also seen threads from South Florida with the same concerns. I also have a 2007. Do you see any signs of any kind of stickyness and could you watch out for this especially in the summertime. I have heard all the reasons why it's my fault but I have never used anything on my dash and now I cant even touch it without damaging the surface. Just checking.

Had a 2007 Ultra from 10/2006 until 10/2011 and had no issues with the dash. Car was outside the whole duration (no garage) and I would only wipe it down with Lexol leather conditioner with same cloth I used on the seats for years.

Hello, I've only owned my car for 3-4 months and its been pretty cold so I haven't noticed anything like that. When I bought the car the steering wheel buttons were peeling and since been replaced. As for my dash it seems to be in good condition with no stickiness. I also had a 2002 ES300 for over 3 years with no issues.

Default Blue and White L.E.D Swap Everything! AMBER LIGHTS MUST GO!

I decided to replace the red flashing security light to blue. I removed the panel with the vents by pulling straight quite hard towards my self. It's secured by 4 clips, 2 on each side.

Next I pulled this out in one piece and then separated it. It was very hard to separate, I ended up breaking one clip as you can see in the picture. It still went back together and held strong.

Pulled the old red light out and soldered in a new blue T5 led bulb.

I also wanted to add a link for dash board led replacement, I got a lot of helpful info from here on a great cheap mod!

I still miss the wood grain/chrome look as small of a difference it may be. Wonder if a carpenter could do some custom wood grain up for it? lol

I agree, anytime you lose any amount of wood grain or chrome it's a very sad day lol. Something custom would be cool if it matched good. Let me know if u find or build anything. Where there's a will there's a way!
