Nav Question
I recently had the new map update done at Chandler Lexus. Only one obvious change and that is while on freeways (I-10, for example), s sub-screen displays the next three exits data (distance, time, etc,) on the right half of the screen. This sub-screen occupies approximately 50 % of the screen real estate so restricts what is available to see of the map around the interstate. It does this whether on a programmed route or not. The previous version of maps did not do this and I cannot find a way to turn it off.
Anybody know what to do about this?

What did you pay for your map update? My car has version 9, so I am due. I've checked the price for the flash drive ($169) and am curious about the labor charge for the update. Tks.

OK, I tried again but no joy. If there is a way to turn off the freeway exit sub-map, I cannot find it.
At Chandler Lexus, the map update was $169 plus $65 in labor for a total of $234. Outrageous, yes.

I agree the $234 is outrageous but it's not bad comapred to what some others have been quoted (close to $300). My dealer quoted something in the area of $235. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the reply LexBob. On my screen with the 2012 update, I have an ON button on the lower left part of the screen, not an OFF. When I touch the ON button the bottom menu expands then an OFF button appears on the lower right. Touching this off button only collapses the menu, it does not turn off the freeway screen. However, when you touch the ON button, a new button appears just above the On button. It has a triangle and a square box. Touching that new button brings up a screen that allows you to turn off the freeway screen or reconfigure the screen for other items. This allowed me to turn off the freeway screen. Touching On and the triangle/square button again brings the reconfigure screen back on to allow to turn freeway back on. This works while driving. I have not found this in the Navigation Manual.

On my '07 ES350 I always have to enter "I agree" when I start the vehicle, and again if I've used the bluetooth or put it in reverse. Is the newest version more user friendly?

The I AGREE button went away with the next dvd edition map than the one that came in your car. If you buy the dvd map that came out last month the message comes on for 5 sec, then goes away by itself. If you do get it, don't pay the dealer to install it. Eject the old one and insert the new one and your done.
