Default Looking into getting the ES350, But

My trek to get a Lexus hasn't been going too well. Initially I wanted the LS 430 (03-06). After a few close purchases, I am beginning to realize this may be more difficult then I thought (see my posts on LS430 Forum). I am now considering the ES350 as well. The first one I see is a 2007 that has 41,000 miles. The Lexus.com site shows it has had 6 or so electric repairs along with three (yes 3) battery replacements inside of a 14 month period, the last one being as recent as this past April. This car only has 41K. What the....%#&*..... Are there issues with the ES350 I should be aware of. Please let me know before I go any further. I really want a nicer car, but this stuff is scary....

No such problems are common, I might wonder if maybe that car was a flood car?

Thanks. Great point. I thought it was strange such a low mileage car with so many elec issues. Thanks again for the response.

I just recently sold my 2007 ES350 after 6 years of ownership. I never had any significant issues with the car. It had 59,000 miles on it and still ran like a new car.

Just spoke to the dealership that did all the service work. They explained that many different kinds of issues are lumped into the "Electric Repair" category. They wouldn't go into too much detail, but one was for a key issue, one was for an A/C issue, one was for a switch repair. The three batteries were a result of a draw that couldn't be initially found. All repairs were covered under the warranty.

Should you decide to pull the trigger on this ES, you may wish to consider some form of extended warranty, regardless of cost. I doubt that any factory warranty remains. Your money--your call.

THREE batteries? Really? YIKES!!!

Sounds like an electrical gremlin on the car. I personally would pass on it.

Our 2007 has been pretty uneventful - - having just turned 54k . . I certainly wouldn't rule out the model or year based on that one car.

We've had a couple of Lexus and have been pleased - -good luck.
