More info on the options/sound system installed would help. The detailed spec list and installed options in the ad is useless.

A lot of pricing is location specific so it is hard to say for sure.

I have had my best luck when finding two cars at two different dealerships and working on negotiating both at the same time.

I really think ultimate price will be determined by the specific market and the only way to get a clear read on that is talk numbers on similar cars with competing dealers.

You're first mistake is buying it from a dealer - you're always going to get screwed on the price. If you want to know what the wholesale price of a car is, go to kelly blue book dot com. DO NOT go by their prices for used cars, as the web site is all propaganda put on by car dealers. Instead, go to the section where it tells you how much YOUR car is worth at a dealer. Take all of the information about the car you are looking to buy, and enter this information in to the trade in section of the web site. It will tell you how much you can expect from a dealer for your trade in - this is the wholesale price, and the price the dealer will not pay any extra over for the specific car you are looking at. Then, you know how much the dealer paid wholesale for the car, and you can tell them you know how much they paid, and offer them $500.00 more. They make a profit, and you don't get shafted.

As far as the car you listed above, it has pretty low miles, but they are going for $15 - 19k, that dealer wants too much.

Good looking Lexus - - a bit strong on price but that's usually the case with a dealer-- so you'll want to whittle it down just a bit- but should have confidence in it being a good solid car that will serve you well for years.

Good luck - -

Low miles and not a CPO ?????? Is the factory warranty still in tact ?

No collision damage evident.??? What ..... does that mean a body shop did a good job?

The exterior condition of this vehicle shows that it was garaged. Vague language

The engine is mechanically sound and can be driven anywhere with confidence ... Too vague ....mechanically sound - wow ..... sounds more like an old Volvo Turbo with 200,000 miles on Craigslist. More important is what do the maintenance records show?

The odometer reading is correct. Duh .....

The transmission shifts like it was new. ...... so any 08ES with under 40K miles .... and if something were wrong, the factory warranty should cover it.

I say .... run from this one unless CPO with full maintenance history.

And my gosh .......... 11% interest on a loan ....... you can do better than that on a credit card !!!!!!

That non CPO '08 ES350 is way overpriced.Possible issues along with a 72 month loan on a '08 vehicle and at a ridiculous 11%.
Forget about a used Lexus.
You should buy a new Accord or Camry for that $25K and get a 0.9 or 1.9% loan for 60 months..

I agree. Get something new with a full factory warranty that's within your budget.

The '08 is already 5 model years old and when the loan is paid off it will be an 11 year old car that was just paid off. There are better options out there.

I think you're being a bit cynical. Most of that stuff they are required to say in their ads as a 'CYA' statement. It has a carfax...if you don't believe it wasn't hit then take a look. If you still don't believe the carfax, pull back some weatherstripping and look at the frame, otherwise there's no reason to be suspicious.

If it's any gauge, I'm currently working a deal for an 07 es350, no nav, no heated seats, 63k miles and I've got the dealer at 16,500. That car being CPO and such low mileage plus a year newer with more miles, I'd say the 22,000 range is pretty fair. Anywhere below that you're getting a really good deal.

Are you going with a 11% 6 year loan?

THAT part I will agree is ridiculous....my credit's not the greatest and if I wanted to go out 6 years on the 07 I'd be looking at about 5.39%. Nevermind an 08. I'm guessing the OPs credit must be pretty dinged up to get a rate like that.

True but buying a 5 year old Lexus with a 6 yr 11% loan is crazy.Along with over paying for a non CPO '08 ES.
Buy a Lexus another time in the future.
A more sensible move now is to buy a new Honda,Toyota etc for that $25K.Lower interest rate and a new car.
You did ask for advice....
