But I would definitely buy that OEM NAV unit for $350, sell it and make some coin off it for your install, thats a killer deal and a half

Is this true?

I am looking at replacing my non-NAV unit with a NAV unit from a local junkyard mainly for the backup camera - I know I'll need to get a camera, mount it and run a wire to the new HU - but I guess adding NAV would be a nice bonus.

Wondering if it's a P&P swap - like many Toyota products - or if the above statement is valid.

It is indeed not a P&P situation. You need to tap into various other wires and systems to be able to get inputs to display and be controlled correctly.

If you are willing to undertake the task this will guide you through it. It should be fairly close even though its from the IS forums.
