Default release of 2013 effect CPO prices?

Hi. I 'm new here. I am currently driving an 05 ES 330, and thinking about upgrading with a CPO 350. I love the keyless start and back up camera! I am looking at CPO prices, and am wondering if the prices of the older models will go down once the 2013 is released. What do you tall think?

Thank you!

If the overall history of car values in general is any indication of what may happen when the 2013 ES hits the dealers, then yes, the values of 2007-2012 models should eventaully go down. How much & how soon is anybody's guess.

Lots of folks, myself included, won't buy the first year of a new model due to the tendency for the first year to come with several problems/issues that are eventually worked-out/fixed in later years. OTOH, the same folks believe that the last couple of years of the last model are usually pretty problem-free--in comparison.

Sure they will, but it won't be an immediate thing...

Ok thanks, I won' t hold my breath then.
Next question: What do you think of a 2007 ES350 with almost 70,000 miles? The sales man is telling me he can get it certified, for about $22000. I am concerned that is '07 is too old, even if the price is right By the time i get it paid off, I may be ready to upgrade.

From the sound of it you'd be better off looking for a lower mileage 08 or '09.

That '07 is already a high mileage car and by the time you pay if off it could have +100k miles on it. If it were me I'd go for a much lower mileage newer model. 2007 was the first year for the current gen ES350, get a newer model and not have to worry about the 1st year issues.

A 2010 ES is the way to go used if you can.You can probably get a lot less miles still in warranty/certified discounted for around $27K +tax and fees.

The '10 mid cycle refresh.

Both the front and rear lights have been revised, along with a new front bumper, new foglights, a new grille. Chrome side molding has also been added.

The new-look Lexus side mirrors with integrated turn signals have been added.

The standard 17” alloy wheels now have a split five-spoke design.

There are four new colors available: Truffle Mica, Peridot Mica, Satin Cashmere Metallic and Cerulean Blue Metallic will replace Moon Shell Mica, Amber Pearl, Aquamarine Pearl, Black Sapphire Pearl and Golden Almond Metallic.

Inside, enhancements to the wood trim and leather, the steering wheel controls have been revised and there is now new wood trim placed in the center console and glovebox.

The armrest has been changed to provide easier access and more room.

Rear seat side airbags have been added, bringing the total to ten airbags throughout the vehicle.

Standard leather-trimmed seating is available in three colors including Parchment which replaces Cashmere. New Brown Walnut wood trim replaces Medium Brown Walnut, while the ES adds Espresso Bird’s Eye Maple trim.

The ES will receive an updated Lexus sound system, and will be available with the upgraded 6th generation navigation system, along with iPod integration and Safety Connect & Lexus Enform telematics.

If you're buying one the dealer will tell you ..NO.
If you're trading one in they'll tell you ...YES

John U has it exactly. The pricing will drop once the 2013 models are on the showroom floor and on their lot right next to the old style. Look at the leftover GS350 models once the new style arrived.

Autotrader.com shows 4981 '12 ES350 available nationwide.
The number may be a bit high because some of those units may have been sold.
However, not all '12 ES350's are probably listed on the site.
These '12's have to be sold.So when the '13's hit the showrooms,Toyota will have a bigger manufacturer to dealer incentive that they do now to get these units off the lot.

You can get a smokin' hot deal on a 2012 ES right now. Probably even better in a month. If I could somehow come up with $10k I'd get a 2012 in a heart beat. Sure it is a dated look but it is a very mature platform. I was in the dealership the other day and the sales guy showed me how a 2012 ES is going for less than a 2011 ES with 20,000 miles on it!

My 2011 has just over 5,800 miles, bought it as a leftover 10/2011. Very happy with it and the deal back then.

Sure, but these are not CPO, these are new leftover 2012s.

Is the value of a CPO 2008 going to take a nosedive? No.

I passed the "overflow" lot of a local dealer yesterday. A lot full of new black and white ES's lined up like a checkerboard. Had to have over 2 dozen
